اختبرت "ناسا" في إطار بحوث تكنولوجيا الدرونات مروحية مصممة لتكون تاكسي طائرا.
وأشار موقع "space.com" إلى أن الاختبار على طائرة لم تطلق عليها أي تسمية بعد تم في قاعدة الطيران الكهربائي لشركة "جوبي" التي تعمل على تطوير التكنولوجيا مع "ناسا" منذ عشر سنوات.
وستقوم الطائرة التي تشبه نسخة مضخمة من الدرون المزود بست أقراص دوارة بتجارب الطيران في قاعدة الشركة بالقرب من منطقة بيغ سور الجبلية في كاليفورنيا، وتعد من التجارب الأولى على هذا النوع من الطائرات.
وقام الباحثون بتطوير نوع من المركز السمعي المتنقل لتعقب المركبة الطائرة بـ50 مكبرا للصوت وجمع البيانات حول الضجيج الذي تصدره.
ويعتبر الضجيج عاملا مهما في تبني رحلات الإقلاع والهبوط العامودية.
